Website: I started with Sandart distribution about six years ago, by having tables at two prominent nurseries in the northern suburbs of Cape Town. It became so popular that the parents soon started approaching me to have parties at their homes. These parties became in such a demand that we had to do four to five every weekend! I then started to do fetes, carnivals, festivals, etc. The wine farms in the area also approached me to offer Sandart as an activity for the kids, while the moms and dads enjoy tasting the fine wines and lovely cuisine.

I then decided to have my husband (Des) build display stands to put in various shops. We received the permission from the factory to go ahead and what a huge success – we were contacted by several other shops which also required these display units. Today we have more than 50 outlets selling Sandart, and this number is increasing by the week! One of our team visits these outlets every two weeks, to monitor the sales and maintain the required stock levels. We have to be VAT registered and all products need to be bar-coded, in order for us to supply this service.

My husband also builds tables, which we issue on a loan basis to play centres across Cape Town and the Boland area, with great success. We currently have eight of these tables with exceptional results. My next venture was to start renting out the tables to people who wish to do their own Sandart parties, schools, crèches, churches, etc. for fund raising purposes.
