Idea Factory is a family business and being parents ourselves, we understand that a creative activity should be FUN and not a struggle.

Have you ever bought a craft product only to find that it is inferior quality and doesn’t work? Your kids get frustrated and loose interest very quickly. It is often a huge mess with the product finally ending up in the bin.

We tested many different products to try and determine the difference between poor and good quality. We found three factors that are important to consider:

  1. The contents - Unless you know the product you have no idea what to expect. With SandArt it is important that the designs are properly cut. When you peel an area it should peel away on its own, and not lift the adjoining pieces. It becomes a huge mess when that happens and it is nearly impossible to stick the other pieces back.
    The designs should also be unique and creative so that the Sand Artists not only enjoy the activity, but will also be proud of their beautiful finished pictures. The card should not be a thin, floppy piece of paper, which makes it difficult to work with and the adhesive must be strong enough for the sand to stick quickly and not rub off easily. The sand must also be the correct grain size - it will not stick properly should it be too coarse or too fine.

  2. Packaging - Good-looking packaging and a cheap price is often the deciding factor when we buy a product, but we all know that nice packaging doesn’t necessarily mean it is of high quality. A product should look good, especially if you are buying it as a gift, but there is much more to a quality product than just nice packaging.

  3. Safety of the product - At Idea Factory, we have an ongoing commitment to quality assurance and service. Sandart conform to the CE regulation which means that the product has been tested and conforms to the requirements corresponding with the EU (European Union) guidelines. Sandart conforms to BS EN 71-1,2,3 and AS/NZS ISO-8124 safety standards.

We manufacture everything ourselves at Idea Factory, from cutting the cards to colouring the sand. With an ongoing commitment to produce the highest quality Sand Art, we produce a product that:
